From Humble Beginnings to 86 Years of Combined Expertise

The program was founded over 20 years ago with a vision to provide recovery and educational services to individuals in need. However, the original members, including Dr. William F. Taylor and Dr. Clifton C. Smith, were working full-time jobs and had to put the project on hold. 

Today, after retiring from their long careers in clinical psychology and business management, they’ve come together again to breathe new life into Alpha Recovery. With a renewed sense of purpose to help the community, they have expanded the scope of services to reach even more people across San Bernardino County and beyond.

With their combined expertise, they’ve made it their mission to help individuals overcome not only substance use disorders but also the barriers that keep people from finding meaningful employment and living fulfilling lives. Dr. Taylor and Dr. Smith believe that everyone deserves a second chance, and at Alpha Recovery, they provide the tools and support to make that belief a reality. Their journey from founding to resurrecting Alpha Recovery is a testament to their dedication and unwavering commitment to helping people rebuild their lives.
